Online Resources

Resource Databases

The Lee Library website offers a One-Step Link with access to a wide variety of resource databases (a total of 32 databases). This service is made available by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) and the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) to all of their member libraries, including the Lee Library Association.

Galesites

This one-step link directs the user to a Galesites web page which consolidates access to 32 databases provided by Gale, the leading provider of online databases for schools and libraries.  The databases give access to a vast array of resources in many subject areas (e.g. Academic, Arts & Humanities, Business, K-12 Resources, Home & Travel, Health & Nursing, Britannica Online, the Boston Globe, the NY Times, etc.).

Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information upon it.

-Samuel Johnson

The Databases are Grouped into Subject Areas.

The Galesites web page which is accessible through the one-step link provides Selection Menus (vertical menus on the left and right sides of the page) by which you can select either a single subject area, or all of them. The following are some examples of the available subject areas:

Online Newspapers:

All Titles A-Z, i.e. show all 32 databases in alphabetical order>. Two of these databases are:

K-12 Resources, i.e. select databases that provide educational resources for grades K-12 (11 databases, two of which are):

Home & Travel, i.e. select databases that provide resources on cooking, gardening, landscaping, travel, leisure activities, etc (4 databases, two of which are):

Britannica Online Databases (12 databases, 4 of which are):
